Train Community Health Volunteers and Traditional Birth Attendants with links to health facilities responsible for mobilizing pregnant women in the community, linking them to ANC/PMTCT clinics and conducting follow-up in cases of missing on treatment; use What3Word technology to assign addresses to HIV mothers so healthcare worker can locate them more easily (with the help of Community Health Volunteers) and avoid losing them in follow up; build a buddy system where buddies can collect 3-months’ ART supply if the HIV positive mother cannot; and set up a toll-free helpline to provide mothers with access to information and support (provide age-appropriate breastfeeding and nutrition information to mothers and fathers with integrated HIV and ART information to improve adherence of HIV positive mothers on ART and to ultimately prevent MTCT.
Using computer software and regular cell phone credit, messages are sent to new mothers and expecting women twice a week, giving them advice about everything from what foods to eat to the importance of taking their medication. The messages are timed to coincide with different stages of pregnancy.
